Senior Transactional Paralegal

ALX Oncology Inc. is a publicly-traded, clinical-stage immuno-oncology company focused on helping patients fight cancer by developing therapies that block the CD47 checkpoint pathway. Our lead candidate, ALX148, is a next-generation CD47-blocking therapeutic that combines a high-affinity CD47 binding domain with an inactivated proprietary Fc domain. ALX is headquartered in Burlingame, California.   

The successful candidate will aid legal and business personnel in preparation, negotiation, organization, docketing and management of corporate transactions, including preparation of service agreements, clinical agreements, transfer agreements, NDAs, consulting agreements, and others. This position reports to the General Counsel and supports a multi-disciplined development team, covering all programs. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to keep several spinning objects aloft, simultaneously. Work will be done remotely during the pandemic, using Zoom, email and phone, but will be expected to move in-house in Burlingame, CA, when conditions ultimately permit.


These may include but are not limited to: 

  • Build and manage a transactions tracking and docketing system covering all agreements.
  • Intake and track transaction requests.
  • Draft and negotiate CDAs, MTAs, seminar agreements, and others.
  • Partner closely with senior management and business colleagues on a daily basis.
  • Support General Counsel and Chief Business Officer in licensing and acquisitions transactions.
  • Manage and maintain company’s transactions portfolio.
  • Provide support for negotiations.
  • Maintain and track database for Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in due diligence programs and data room management.


  • Knowledge and experience in transactional databases.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in-house or at a law firm in transactions support.
