SEC Reporting Manager

ALX Oncology is a publicly traded, clinical-stage immuno-oncology company focused on helping patients fight cancer by developing therapies that block the CD47 checkpoint pathway. Our lead candidate, ALX148, is a next generation CD47 blocking therapeutic that combines a high-affinity CD47 binding domain with an inactivated proprietary Fc domain. ALX148 has demonstrated promising clinical responses across a range of hematologic and solid malignancies in combination with a number of leading anti-cancer agents.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our Accounting and Finance team as our new SEC Reporting Manager. The individual will lead and own SEC reporting, technical accounting, equity administration and other key financial reporting items. This person will be a key member in the accounting department to implement new processes as a newly public company within the financial reporting function.    


These may include but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare SEC filings, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-8, as well as other required filings (proxy statement, S-3 and Section 16).
  • Prepare support for all filings (including cash flow statement and disclosure checklists).
  • Lead accounting/disclosure guidance adoptions.
  • Update XBRL for financial statements to the appropriate US GAAP taxonomy.
  • Research accounting transactions, prepare accounting position papers and prepare supporting schedules for implementing new accounting guidance.
  • Manage administration of stock award activity.
  • Prepare stock-based compensation financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries for items as they relate to stock-based compensation, guidance implementation and other various areas.
  • Participate in the annual audit and quarterly review process with external auditors.
  • Implement and maintain disclosure controls.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as needed to support the accounting department.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required with a minimum of 5 plus years of public accounting experience with SEC clients or 5 years of experience in a financial reporting role for a publicly traded company.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and ability to independently research.
  • Strong understanding of SOX/internal controls.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
  • Active Disclosure experience required.
  • NetSuite and Equity Edge Online experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced team environment.
