Administrative Assistant / Senior Administrative Assistant

ALX Oncology Inc. is a publicly-traded, clinical-stage immuno-oncology company focused on helping patients fight cancer by developing therapies that block the CD47 checkpoint pathway. Our lead candidate, ALX148, is a next-generation CD47-blocking therapeutic that combines a high-affinity CD47 binding domain with an inactivated proprietary Fc domain. ALX is headquartered in Burlingame, California.   

Reporting to the Company’s Chief Medical Officer, we are seeking a highly experienced Administrative Assistant with strong organizational skills to support our Clinical and Regulatory departments. The right candidate will have a breadth of experience developed through a combination of education, training, and/or extensive experience working in a similar role. This role will provide high-level administrative support in a fast-paced environment. The Administrative professional will be trusted to handle sensitive and confidential material, and will monitor email and other communications to ensure external and internal requests are met in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will utilize good judgment while anticipating the needs of others. The ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision will be critical, and this position will serve as the “go-to” person for the Clinical and Regulatory departments. Work will be performed remotely during the pandemic, but this position will be expected to transition to a combination of remote work and in-house work at our future location in South San Francisco, CA, when conditions permit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates/Leads ad-hoc projects within and across work groups.
  • Calendar management and multi-calendar scheduling.
  • Book/register/coordinate travel, conferences, offsite meetings.
  • Expense reports and purchase orders (e.g., requests/manage internal reviews/sign-offs).
  • Circulate and distribute various documents for signature.
  • File and maintain documents.
  • Maintenance of logs, correspondence, and publications.
  • Assist with presentations (PowerPoint).

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Tech savvy with experience demonstrating basic computer skills and knowledge of computer systems and office apps (e.g. G Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, DocuSign, Box).
  • Prior experience working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (preferred).
  • 8+ years Administrative Assistant experience.
